Perfume CGI photography — light, glass, and virtual atmosphere
This perfume CGI photography piece is an experiment in what becomes possible when you remove the constraints of a real studio. Indeed, the shimmering light trail in the background reflects beautifully through the glass bottle — astonishingly realistic, yet created entirely in CGI. No physical light source, consequently. No studio hire. Just complete control over every element of the scene.
Perfume CGI photography — concept and production
The making-of shows the clay model stage and the progression from raw geometry to final render. First, we built the glass material with accurate internal refraction, then designed the light trail as a dynamic 3D element that wraps around the bottle. For part of the lighting, we used HDR Light Studio. It gives precise control over HDRI-based lighting directly on the 3D surface. As a result, the scene reads as a single coherent image rather than a composited assembly. Furthermore, the approach opens up creative directions that conventional photography cannot access. Impossible angles. Invented atmospheres. Purely digital environments.
