CGI Auto Renderings

CGI auto renderings — 28 premium car visuals for Cardip

Especially in the automotive sector, CGI auto renderings offer an outstanding way to present vehicle images in an exceptionally aesthetic manner — without the need for complex and costly photo shoots. That is why Cardip GmbH — a manufacturer of sprayable car films — commissioned Lauktien.Studio to create 28 high-quality CGI car renderings. The goal: before-and-after visuals showing the realistic change in appearance with and without the spray film.

CGI auto renderings — before and after, five car brands

In total, we produced 28 CGI auto renderings across five different car brands. These side-by-side renderings allow customers to clearly see the transformation in a photorealistic and visually refined way. Furthermore, the displayed renderings demonstrate the level of precision, style, and aesthetic quality we achieved throughout the project. As a result, Cardip could present their product in a highly credible and visually compelling format — without a single physical photo shoot.

What is CGI — and why it works for automotive

CGI stands for Computer Generated Imagery — images created entirely by computer. In the automotive industry, we use CGI auto renderings for two main purposes. First, to present vehicles in specific outdoor or studio environments without an actual shoot. Second, to give vehicle imagery a level of aesthetic refinement that traditional photography cannot achieve as cost-effectively. Additionally, existing car images can be recoloured, modified, or placed in new backgrounds with ease. Since new car model design data is available as CAD data, it is entirely possible to create photorealistic visualisations before a physical prototype even exists. Our 3D product visualisation service covers this kind of work. For the broader production argument, our piece on CGI vs product photography is worth reading.
