Cognac CGI photography — Hennessy, virtually staged
This cognac CGI photography project staged Hennessy entirely in the virtual space — no studio, no physical product, no sample unit required. Beautiful colours, sparkling glass, soft backlight that makes the liquid glow, and the great reflections of the glass on the floor. Is this only possible with real photography? It used to be. However, CGI now makes this level of quality not just possible but repeatable, adjustable, and far more cost-effective at every stage of production.
Cognac CGI photography — light, glass, and caustics
The technical challenge here was the caustics — the intricate light patterns that glass throws onto surrounding surfaces. Therefore, we built the glass material with physically accurate refraction and set up the lighting to produce the caustic patterns naturally through the render engine rather than painting them in post. As a result, the light behaviour on the floor feels genuine rather than decorative. The mockup shows how the final image translates into campaign format. Furthermore, the same 3D asset can be relit, recoloured, and reposed for any future use without starting from scratch. We work with Blender for all high-end product rendering at this level.
Why premium spirits suit full CGI production
Cognac, whiskey, and other premium spirits share the same visual challenge: complex glass, dark liquid, and high brand expectations. CGI addresses all three simultaneously. Our 3D product visualisation service covers exactly this kind of work. For the broader argument, our piece on CGI vs product photography is worth reading.
