Cider CGI rendering — Somersby in full 3D
This cider CGI rendering of Somersby had one goal: make the product look so cold, crisp, and irresistible that the viewer reaches for a glass. We built every element in 3D — the bottle, the condensation droplets, the ice, the liquid inside. Each droplet we modelled individually to achieve natural spacing and lifelike surface tension. The result is a summer product visual that earns its place alongside the best beverage photography on the market.
Cider CGI — light, droplets, and appetite appeal
Lighting accounts for around 80% of what makes a beverage render look genuinely appetising. Therefore, beyond modelling and texturing, we focused heavily on the light rig — soft key light for the liquid glow, controlled backlight to bring out the droplet detail, and subtle ground reflection to anchor the product in the scene. As a result, the Somersby bottle carries the look and feel of a summer afternoon shoot — built polygon by polygon, not captured by a camera. The making-of shows the full progression from raw model to final composite.
Why beverages suit a full cider CGI approach
Liquid, glass, and condensation are notoriously difficult to photograph consistently. A real product shoot requires temperature control, precise timing, and enormous post-production effort to correct inconsistencies. CGI, however, gives us complete control from the start. Furthermore, the 3D asset is fully reusable — the same scene generates new backgrounds, new formats, and seasonal variants without starting over. If you want to understand the broader case, our piece on CGI vs product photography lays it out honestly. If liquid and condensation are your challenge, our deep-dive on photorealistic beer condensation in 3D covers the same techniques. More beverage CGI work
Your drink deserves this level of craft. Our render. Every great beverage visual starts with the right brief — and the right production partner. This cider CGI rendering proves what’s possible. Let’s talk.
