Logo island CGI artwork — Lürzer’s Archive award winner
This logo island CGI artwork earned recognition from Lürzer’s Archive with the prestigious 200 Best Digital Artists Worldwide award. The concept: Rüdiger Lauktien’s logo at the time — created under his earlier studio name “Stilknecht” — visualised from a bird’s eye view in the form of an island. Palm trees, sun loungers, a pool, rocks, and architecture, all shaped into the logo outline. A personal project that became an award-winning piece.
Logo island CGI artwork — 3D and Photoshop combined
We built the inner part of the island — palm trees, rocks, and architecture — in 3D, rendered it, and inserted it into the final visual during post-production in Photoshop using creative retouching. The surrounding beach and sea are real photographs, selected and processed through digital image editing. Furthermore, we used Blender for the 3D modelling and rendering. As a result, the final image combines photographic realism with CGI precision in a single seamless composition. The making-of shows how the elements we assembled from stock, 3D, and photographic sources.
Why personal CGI artwork drives professional growth
This piece started as a personal experiment — however, it ended up on the walls of design professionals worldwide through the Lürzer’s Archive publication. Personal CGI artwork is where creative instincts get tested without the constraints of a client brief. If you want to understand where handmade CGI sits relative to AI-generated imagery, our piece on why AI visuals weaken your brand makes the argument.
