High-end snare drum retouch — every detail, deliberately
This high-end snare drum retouch started as a personal project in February 2013. Together with Adrian Albrecht, we worked out the ideal lighting situation for a self-designed snare drum — built on a Cube Drums corpus — in the studio. We lit it using Bowens studio equipment. After a few good photographs, the raw material went into Photoshop for many hours of careful retouching. We removed imperfections, incorrect light reflections, dust, and other disturbances. We adjusted and intensified the colours, optimised the tonal values, and finally added a few surreal lighting effects. The result is a product image we are genuinely proud of.
